Aired Out: Update to 2015 Arctic Cat 6000/8000/9000 models

Arctic Cat announced an update to the side panel on all 2015 ZR, XF and M models in the 6000, 8000, and 9000 engine series.

The revised side panel features a new external duct that directs more air onto the clutches, reducing their operating temperatures.

Arctic Cat indicates that the reduced drive belt temperatures offer “optimum performance.”

It’s also known that high belt temperatures are a significant factor in belt life, so presumably the new side panel will contribute to longer belt life on these models.

The new side panel won’t be utilized on 7000 series models because the engine sits higher in the chassis on these machines. The new duct extends to the inside of the side panel, interfering with the different engine position on the 7000 series models.

Arctic Cat offers an Accessory Vent Kit (above) that includes the inner/outer ducts and a stainless steels snow screen. The kit MSRP is $39.95 U.S./$46.95 Canada and requires a one-piece clutch guard.

They should have put the Tss-04 on all the sleds, not just the 4000... IMO.

I do agree with comment #2, AC should have used the TSS-04 on all ZR performance sleds, including the '12-'14 MY sleds.

Replace a poor clutch design... with the same poor design? Interesting because the aftermarket isn't making a torsional conversion for it that will allow some top-end and cooler temps.

I beg to differ that the TEAM Tss-04 is a poor design. If it were, I don't believe that all of the factories would be using it on their race sleds..... Must be doing something right if they ALL use it.

I think the last comment is the closest to the truth ! It all comes to down to two things cost of production being one , but the the big one is the engineers all wear that little ring on there pinky finger that gives them the right to say that the clutches they designed are not the problem here . I think that ring cut the blood flow to there brains ! Wtf why not fix the problem not just patch it , what's next reroute the turbo tubing from the engine and vent it on the clutches ?

FWIW I not a fan of the team secondary (or any compression only), it and the parts that go along are outrageously over priced.
Drag racers, and radar run guys only use them for ashtrays. Pro riders use whatever the sponsors give them and pay them to use.

I also don't feel that the secondary is the sole cause of belt life issues, or that any secondary alone will solve them. Team's own test team reported no improvement in belt life on pro cross turbo sleds.

So I made the first comment about the vents location being reversed, and someone went in there and made it right without telling anyone it was wrong from the start. They also deleted some of what I said. Why didn't they just admit they got it wrong the first time, instead of making me look like a Jak.

Trev..... The main issue MOST have with TEAMS design is that they use too heavy of a spring and try offsetting it with steeper helix angles.

Yes, I'm a fan of the reverse cam rollers from Cat, BUT, the TEAM can be made to shiftout (open up throughout) as easily as the Cat rev cams can AND they offer a little "extra" something not available with the reverse cams....

I will post up in moderators forum in next few days just what it is....

Od telekabel ti imaat dodeleno paket od 8mbps ama fintata e sto nemozzes da ja postignes, so hakiranje mozes ako imas paket od 8mbps da si staves od 16mbps na primer, ama pak drug problem ako nema slobodno protok gabe ti se i 1000 da staves.
