Christian Bros. Racing tops ISOC Snocross

Christian Bros. Racing had an amazing ISOC Season

Press Release –

Christian Bros. Racing Shines in ISOC Snocross Circuit

Podiums, points championships, the ISOC Team Of The Year and Pro Rookie of the Year awards all went home with the Christian Brothers Racing team after the ISOC snocross season finale in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, this past March 19-20, 2011. Lake Geneva has become the traditional end-of-season event for the National snocross tour and the ski slopes of Grand Geneva Resort have played host to some of the best races in snocross history. This weekend made history in a different way though – while Saturday saw mild Spring weather, Sunday’s racing saw drenching rains and even some thunder which made for challenging conditions for riders and teams.

At the close of the weekend, CBR rider Logan Christian took home the coveted Pro Rookie of the Year award after basically having a standout season that included Top 10 finishes in both Pro points chases and a second place finish at the ISOC Hayward National.

“Being named Pro Rookie of the Year is an incredible honor,” said Christian. “I have to thank everyone who helps me with my program, because this is definitely a team effort.”

Christian demonstrated why he was awarded the honor with another solid performance at Lake Geneva. When the green flag flew to start Saturday’s Pro Super Stock final Garth Kaufman slotted himself into the front of the running order, just as he’s done all season. Christian was also high in the running order and making time through the tough mogul section. From there, the race got crazy with Top 5 riders crashing and crashing out, allowing Christian and Kaufman to move up with ease. Kaufman looked to be destined for a fourth place finish but passed his way into third place and a podium spot right at the finish line. Christian came in 7th gaining valuable points. Kaufman led CBR riders in Pro Super Stock points finishing 4th overall. Christian landed in 7th and was followed by Pattyn in 12th and Ryan Simons (22nd) who missed half the events after being injured at the Winter X games.

“I knew some of the leaders had come off and I was moving up in the order,” said Kaufman. “I just tried to ride my race and kept pushing until I was just behind third place. I didn’t think I would have time to make the pass for third place but it worked out perfect!”

Christian repeated his 7th place finish in the wet and rainy Pro Open race on Sunday. He was backed up by CBR riders Zach Pattyn and Kaufman who finished 12th and 15th respectively. Kaufman and Christian both finished in the Top 10 in Pro Open points with Kaufman landing in 6th and Christian in 9th. Pattyn’s season-end points put him in 13th overall and Simons came in 19th.

CBR Pro Am Women rider Carly Davis had a stellar weekend, taking the win in the race as well as the season points championship in the class.

“This is awesome!” said Davis. “I just want to thank the team for giving me everything I needed to go out and win.”

At the ISOC season-end awards banquet after the race the Christian Brothers Racing team was named Team of the Year for the second season in a row.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by your peers like this,” said team co-owner Dwight Christian. “It’s racing and you want to win, but when the day is done you want to be respected as well, and I consider this award a sign that there is a lot of respect for our team out there.”

  1. The Christian Brothers family and team are top notch for sure and I’d like to thank them and Arctic Cat for taking us under their wing. I drove Karl Christian’s sled (#33) this season to my 3rd straight Eagle River World Championship in Plus class snocross. My nephew “Chaz” drives Carly Davis’ 2009 sled and just won the U.S. Open Snocross Championship in junior 14-15, at Boyne City, Michigan April 2, 2011
“I sure hope they include us as part of their team, because we feel our sucess is greatly due to their support!”
(Thanks to you too, John Sandberg, and everyone at Drift and Arctic Cat)

  2. Hello,

Great racing in Duluth. So great to watch. My daughter a 600 liquid in Canada and loves the gear that is half white or black and green. She said she saw it on the team in Duluth. I can’t seem to find where to buy it. Can you lead me in the right direction?
    Thanks
    Andrea
