Haydays 2009 Day 1

(9/12/2009)

Rox custom CFR

Rox delivered another wicked custom Cat, this time a CFR 800 with a Sno Pro seat and a 128-in. track. Look for a full-blown feature on this here at AI in the near future.

Arctic Cat VP of Engineering Roger Skime (left) and Jeremy Houle from Speedwerx discuss the prototype Speedwerx 730cc Big Bore Kit for the Sno Pro 500. Here's another future AI story.

Arctic Cat booth at Haydays

The Arctic Cat booth was packed all day. No big unveilings this year, but plenty of conversations with Cat engineers.

Minnesota Vikings cheerleaders at Arctic Cat

A couple Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders brought good vibes to the Cat booth. There was no official sighting of Brett Favre.

10-Up anyone?

This custom limo Cat was on display at the VSCA booth. I estimate the value of this original fabric seat to be more that $1,500 alone.

Good for soaking up water

Other seats were quite so attractive, or valuable.

Arctic Cat Sno Pro oval racer

You never know what kind of goodies you'll see being bought, sold and otherwise hauled around the swap meet.

Tour de France next year?

I'm considering a run at next year's Tour de France aboard this vintage Arctic Cat bicycle.

Couple of Cross-Country Cats.

These beauties were bought from vintage Cat guru Jeff Johnson. The new owner? None other than Pat Mach, owner of USCC Racing and a fully-certified vintage nut.

Grass Drag Racing

What would Haydays be without some grass, er, clay drags? Although the Firecats are still kicking tail, there were WAY more 4-strokes being raced this year. Hmmm...

Voting for their favorite prototype Arctic Cats

A special trailer in the Arctic Cat compound featured four flatscreen monitors, each with prototype snowmobile illustration. People were encouraged to take a survey about each drawing and rank their favorite, which Arctic Cat will presumably consider for their next generation snowmobile.

Tucker Hibbert has little to say about ArcticInsider.

Tucker Hibbert would have had a lot of good things to say about ArcticInsider.com, if only...
