After enjoying an awesome experience at the Arctic Cat 50th Anniversary Celebration last summer, Andy Getz and his daughter Stephanie from North Canton, Ohio, decided to create an Arctic Cat soap box derby car. Andy owns an automobile body shop and you can see by the quality of the car that he's a professional.

Andy started snowmobiling 1979 on a 1972 Johnson Skee-Horse (the only sled he's ever owned  that wasn't an Arctic Cat) and road his first Arctic Cat in 1980 (a 1979 El Tigre  6000).  The Getz family been sledding since Stephanie was 4 years old and riding ZR120. Now now she rides a 1981 Jag 4000 with 360 miles on it.

They currently own 16 sleds: the original '72 Skee-Horse; two Arctic Cat Jags; an Arctic Cat F6 Sno Pro; ZR 600; ZR120 and an assortment of 1979-84 El Tigre 6000's and 5000's, including a prototype '82! And they have a 2013 XF 1100 on order from Gellner's Arctic Cat.

As for the soap box derby competition, Stephanie won her local race and will compete at the All-American Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio, on July 21st. The Getz's will also be at the VSCA National Show on July 13th & 14th in St.Ignace, Mich., selling Arctic Cat parts at the swap meet.

Way to go Stephanie! Always good to see the green and black out front! All you need now is an Arctic Insider sticker and that bad boy will really fly. Good Luck!

For the parents that have never spent quality time with their children, especially in competition, you have missed out on a feeling that words can not describe!

I'm sure that Andy is sticking his chest out as a very proud parent should!

Good luck Steph on your next race!
