TEAM ARCTIC SAILS TO SNOCROSS VICTORY IN SALAMANCA, NY

8 Class Wins and 21 Podium Finishes at ISOC Snocross National; First and Second at Woody’s Challenge Enduro and Soo 500 Enduro

Team Arctic brought its show of force to the ISOC National snocross events in Salamanca, NY, where the combination of talent, hard work and class-leading ZR 6000R SX snowmobiles achieved 8 wins in 16 classes, plus 21 of 48 podium positions.

Perennial Pro Open winner Tucker Hibbert continued his domination of the premier class, scoring firsts in every heat and both finals to capture his seventh and eighth national-event victories on the season. Teammate Logan Christian put himself on the box for the first time this year after slicing his way through the pack following a tough start, to finish in third.

Montana Jess kept himself in the lead of the Pro Lite title chase with a pair of second place finishes in New York. The winningest snocrosser in New York was Ryley Bester who, in addition to staying undefeated in Jr. 14-15 and Jr. 16-17, also captured a win in Sport Lite for the ultra-rare triple. Other Team Green winners included Eric Downs, Taven Woodie and Kyle Thome.

“Our snocross team continues to fire on all cylinders,” said Mike Kloety, Team Arctic Race Manager. “To win half of the classes and take nearly half of the podium positions underscores the talent of our racers, the hard work of their teams and the performance of our ZR 6000R SX race sleds in the ProCross chassis.”

Team Arctic terrain racers also put on a valiant show at the 48th Annual Soo International 500 enduro in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. Defending champions Wes Selby and Brian Dick nearly repeated their win, coming up short in the final laps to take second place – which was still an impressive result in what was a crash-filled, yellow flag-heavy edition of the race.

“Between the duo of Selby/Dick and Zach Herfindahl/Brady Dyrdahl, Team Arctic racers led the most laps and were the fastest for most of the race,” said Kloety. “We lost our handling when the course got down to dirt and relinquished the lead we’d had for most of the race. It’s tough to lose but all of our teams showed up, raced their best and showed they have the ingredients to win.”

ISOC National snocross resumes Feb. 26-27 in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. The next USXC cross-country race is the I-500 beginning Feb. 27-28 in Warroad, Minn. And the next RMSHA hillclimb is Feb. 12-13 in Bear Lake, Idaho
