I'm thankful that I can trust Billy Bob with my life.

I'm thankful we've done stunts like this so many times, that the rest of the gang don't even pay attention any more.

And I'm thankful there's plenty more of this action happening later today, because it's Friday, April 10, 2015.

I'm thankful for the improved mountain performance characteristics offered by a vertical steering post, new lightweight spindle, narrow ski stance and reshaped skis, as well as the gear-carrying versatility of the new rear rack.

I'm thankful that if you have to ask, you wouldn't understand.

And I'm thankful it's Friday, March 27, 2015.

The End is Near: Last (Snowmobile) Ride of 2015?

(3/19/2015)

2015 Gunflint snowmobile ride on Arctic Cats. Photo by ArcticInsider.com

Winter here in Minnesota came to an abrupt end last week, as an 80-degree swing in temps and highs in the upper 60s fairly destroyed what little snow had accumulated in the past few months.

But there WAS some late season snow still hanging on in the Gunflint area of Minnesota's North Shore.

So with my son on spring break and my friend Tom Rowland always game for an adventure, on Tuesday we attempted what might be our last ride of the season.

Click to see if we succeeded.

News Bites: The March 13, 2015 Edition

(3/13/2015)

Russian snowmobiler gets sucked into track. Drinks Vodka.

What could POSSIBLY go wrong when a Russian attemps to bumper-drag from a snowmobile?

Nothing unusual about a runaway snowmobile careening down a Newfoundland highway for 12 kilometers. Note: The best part is listening to the audio of guys in the car.

If you're goint to steal a snowmobile, make sure you wear waterproof, breathable and taser-proof snowmobile gear.

Man steals cigarettes, snowmobile-mounted cops catch him. (I'm wondering how a smoker ran 6km through the snow?)

From the why-snowmobilers-are-the-greatest file: Kid's snowmobile is stolen, group replaces it with a new one. Awesome!

Thank you to all the snowmobile club members! Stories like this explain why you are the absolute backbone of the sport.

Proof that Zach Herfindahl is One of the World's Fastest XC Racers

(3/12/2015)

There's been a lot of tough talk HERE on my Facebook page, regarding a short video segment I posted about Zach Herfindahl being one of the fastest ditch racers in the world.

Here's a little edit that puts an exclamation point on my sentiment.

All shot last weekend in Warroad, Minn., where Zach won both Pro Stock and Pro Open classes en route to championship titles in both classes.

SWEET riding, Zach!
