TGIF: The Oct. 23, 2015 Edition

(10/23/2015)

TGIF and the ArcticInsiders are taking pot-shots at snowmobile inventors.

I'm thankful for the improved backcountry flickability offered by a vertical steering post and narrow ski stance.

I'm thankful that both the chain and studded rear wheel are mounted a long way away from any vital body parts.

I'm thankful the jackass at ArcticInsider thinks he's so funny, but has never come close to inventing his own snowmobile.

And I'm thankful it's Friday, Oct. 23, 2015.

Here's Dylan Roes winning a heat en route to a win in all-Arctic Cat Stock 1000 final on his 2016 Arctic Cat M8000.

Roes' 5.19-second run in 500 feet is one of the (and perhaps THE) quickest ETs ever! He's #714 in column 2 on the time slip image below.

Team Arctic also went 1-2-3 in the Stock 800 final.

Congrats on the success (and sorry to anyone not riding a Cat).

You Meet the Nicest People (When You're an Arctic Cat Fan)

(9/30/2015)

The Martens Family of Arctic Cat riders.

Meeting new people is one of my favorite aspects of attending events like Hay Days, races, dealer open houses, pig races and the like.

It's funny, but most conversations I have with fellow riders usually touches on the subject of what machines we ride. And I'm frequently amazed by the sheer number of sleds that so many Arctic Cat riders seem to own.

Darin Martens is one guy I met recently (at Hay Days), and who exemplifies what I'm talking about.
