Greatness in Michigan for Team Arctic's Cadarette Racing and Dan Benham

(2/9/2019)

Team Arctic wins

It was magical in Michigan for Team Arctic last weekend, with a series of performances that brought joy and pride to Team Green racers, crews and fans around the world.

At the 51st Annual Soo International 500 enduro in Sault Ste. Marie, the Cadarette Racing team of Troy DeWald, Ryan Spencer and Bill Wilkes proved their greatness once again with an emphatic victory on the famed 1-mile oval. The Cadarette team is legendary among Cat and enduro faithful. This is the fourth win (and second while on Cat). They were also the first team to win the event on an Arctic Cat (in 2010).

On the same day that these guys were winning the Soo, Team Arctic's rookie Pro snocross racer Daniel Benham scored the first ISOC National Pro win of his career!

This is remarkable for a couple of reasons. One, this was just the fifth weekend of Pro class competition for the 20-year-old from Deer River, Minnn. And two, this marks the first Team Arctic racer OTHER than Tucker Hibbert to win a Pro class final since Ryan Simons in 2011 (I think).

Benham was joined on the podium by Team Arctic's Logan Christian, who nailed 3rd. A gaggle of other Team Arctic racers scored wins at the Mt. Pleasant national, including Malene Anderson, Zach Pattyn, Beau Tibbetts, Anson Scheele, Drew Freeland, Kellen Chapuran (two wins!) and Landon Giese.

Congrats to these and ALL the Team Arctic racers who are towing the line each and every weekend! So proud of y'all!

(1/21/2019)

Team Arctic racers swung the winning axe at the 2019 USXC Heartland 200, a hardcore cross-country woods race in Park Rapids, Minn., last weekend.

How deep was the cut?

Team Arctic captured 13 wins out of 17 classes, and 28 of 51 podium positions.

Some notable performances include a Team Arctic sweep of the Pro Factory 600, with Zach Herfindahl, Wes Selby and Re Wadena going 1-2-3, a Team Arctic sweep of Masters 50 Plus (Jon Arneson, Mark Nyquist and John Storlie), and Paul Brown winning two classes.

Cold temps, good snow, rough trails and some sections of ditch characterized the popular race.

Congrats to all the teams, racers and USXC crew.

Hall and Ernst Go 1-2 at NHRA BIR Nationals

(8/24/2018)

Check out the scorching-fast 1/4-mile runs by Team Arctic's Glenn Hall (far lane, on the ProCross 9000 Turbo) and Matt Ernst (near lane, Twin Spar 9000 turbo) in the Pro Stock Snowmobile final at the NHRA Nationals in Brainerd, Minn., last weekend.

Ernst actually had the quicker run -- a 8.242 second burner compared to Hall's 8.273 blast -- but it was Hall's nearly instant .104 reaction time that delivered the VERY close victory.

Both ran 155-plus MPH, and both looked smooth as silk cruising down BIR's tarmac.

Congrats to both!

I-500 Cross-Country Recap

(2/15/2018)

USXC I-500 was good for (most) Team Arctic racers in 2018.

The USXC I-500 cross-country race concluded last Saturday at the finish in Bemidji, Minn. After three days and 500 miles of ditch, river and woods, Team Arctic racers notched 11 of 15 class wins, which is pretty remarkable.

Due to a couple untimely mechanical issues, the team didn't capture the overall win.

Alas... that's racing.

Q&A with 2018 Soo 500 Winners Zach Herfindahl & Wes Selby

(2/4/2018)

Team Arctic Cat Zach Herfindahl and Wes Selby win 2018 Soo 500.

This past weekend, the Team Arctic/Christian Brothers Racing duo of Zach Herfindahl and Wes Selby captured a hard-fought, dramatic win in the 50th Anniversary Soo International 500 enduro. The last 100 or so laps of this race will go down as some of the best racing in the history of an already iconic event, with four sleds in the hunt to win plus an epic battle with Polaris’s Aaron Christensen during the closing laps.

It marked just the third time Arctic Cat has won the Soo, the first coming from Troy DeWald &  Jeff Luenberger in 2010 and the second with Selby and Brian Dick in 2015.

High-Speed-Cold: Pine Lake USXC Cross-Country Opener

(1/6/2018)

Team Arctic dominates 2017-2018 USXC Pine Lake cross-country.

The last weekend of 2017 brought the first USXC cross-country race of the 2018 season, held at its traditional spot on Pine Lake in Gonvick, Minn.

Also known as the Gerald Dyrdahl Memorial Classic, this fine event was once again the showcase for sled speed and handling, racer talent, sled preparation and ridiculously cold temperatures.

Like, it was -750 degrees F, not including the windchill.

I'll spare you the suspense: Team Arctic kicked rear end AGAIN.

Like 17 wins out of 21 possible classes.

Like more than 50% of all the podium positions.
