Once again, the drama of long-distance cross-country racing unfolded in the ditches and on the rivers of Northwest Minnesota.

Dreams were realized, heartache was felt and some form of victory was experienced by all.

The Ditch Doesn't Lie: Team Arctic Keeps Winning in XC at the Oslo 100

The first true ditch-and-river cross-country of the USXC cross-country season went down in Oslo, Minn., this past weekend.

Arctic Cat's domination of the lake races led many to speculate that, perhaps, the tide would turn when the sleds hit the rough world of real cross-country.

Bittersweet Start to 2013 for Team Arctic

Team Arctic won 16 of 20 finals at the USXC cross-country in Detroit Lakes, Minn., and five class victories at the ISOC National snocross in Shakopee, Minn. (including Tucker Hibbert's sweep of the Pro classes).

Yet it was still a bittersweet start to the new year for Team Arctic.

Ryan Simons (pictured) led a virtual clock-cleaning by Arctic Cat, taking both Pro classes (with Christian Bros. teammates taking 2nd and 3rd) while Arctic Cat won something like 16 of 20 finals.

It was pretty stunning!

News Brief: Tucker Hibbert Wins ISOC Race #3 in Michigan

The second stop on the 2012-13 ISOC Snocross tour fell under the complete control of Tucker Hibbert, who seriously dominated the Pro Open final.

 Robbie Malinoski (who finished second) said it best:

“That was a good ‘ol fashion butt whipping I took from Tucker.”

In part because the Duluth race track was so small and uneventful, the Pro racing was more aggressive than I can ever remember seeing.

One casualty of the situation was Garth Kaufman (L) who was severely booted by Levi LaVallee about six times in one heat race.
