WILLIE EWING – GUINNESS WORLD RECORD 2,125 MILES IN 24HRS
Last winter I was proud to be part of Willie Ewing’s record setting run as he logged 2,125 miles in a 24hr period aboard his 2022 Thundercat with Electronic Power Steering.

THE 1,000 MILE CHALLENGE IN NEW BRUNSWICK
The 1000 Mile Challenge is an endurance challenge where two snowmobilers set off on a 24 hour mission to achieve 1000 actual GPS Miles on New Brunswick snowmobile trails.
The riders are equipped with two-way satellite tracking by Garmin Inreach, and anyone interested can track their location live on social media and on a tracking website. For 2023, Rudi Fowler is accepting applications to ride with him if you think you’ve got what it takes. Apply on their website HERE or follow them on Facebook HERE.
3 OLD GUYS RIDE TO ALASKA (FROM MINNESOTA)
This story is going to shape up as the ultimate snowmobile adventure in my mind. Three longtime friends with a checkered (literally) past with Arctic Cat are teaming up to ride their 2023 Arctic Cat Norseman X 800 snowmobiles from Grand Rapids, MN to Fairbanks, AK. Paul Dick, Rex Hibbert and Rob Hallstrom will spend a month, and log 4,000 miles on this trip.
The trio is no stranger to long distance riding as they’ve competed in races like Cains Quest, The Iron Dog and completed a trip from Grand Rapids, MN to Hudson Bay and back in 2019 which you can read about HERE.
As of now, these three Norsemen have started a Facebook page which has gathered quite the following in the couple days its been created. You can learn more about their equipment and prep there. In the near future, I hope to hook up with them to share more details and maybe even a ride.

Once a racer always a racer ! Rex will be looking at every bolt and rivet. Before that sled leave the garage. Question ❓ The pic with the tow sleigh. The Snow flap on that sled. Is that reinforcement on the bottom ❓ Or is that clips to lengthen for low snow conditions ❓
Great question! And one I don’t know the answer to. Rob Hallstrom frequents ArcticInsider, and maybe its one he can answer. I hope to hook-up with Rob and Paul soon to talk about this trip and get some detail on what they’ve learned from their Norseman models.
