A Look at 2022 ZRs and Team Arctic Roster

When the race season concluded last year, the results showed Team Arctic Cross-Country racers did some winning in all COR Powersports classes. To be exact, they won 11 of the 19 possible championships aboard ZRs, including both the prestigious Pro classes.

Team Arctic Race Manager, Mike Kloety, said, “Mother Nature dealt us a hand forcing us to race on lakes last season, and the crew at COR designed some challenging courses. Our racers proved, an Arctic Cat ZR with ProCross chassis is still the one to try and beat, and the championships prove it.”

Pro Open Cross-Country racers put a DOMINATE winning seal on the class by sweeping the TOP 10 positions for year end points! Zach Herfindahl was champion with back-to-back wins in Park Rapids and Naytahwaush.

Herfindahl said, “Last season went by really quickly, but we had fun, and the power and handling of our Arctic Cats were top notch. COR Powersports has a great schedule planned for us this season and I look forward to showcasing how well these ZRs perform again this year!”

Here’s a look at a few of Team Arctic’s cross country racers in Pro and Semi-Pro.

For Team Arctic snocross racers, their season will begin in January with some familiar faces returning, but to different, or new, teams.  In my opinion, last season was one of the most exciting to watch in the Pro, and especially Pro Lite classes. The varying winners kept things interesting, and are sure to do the same this year with more experience under their belt and new equipment/teams.

Good luck to all Cross-Country and Snocross racers this winter! I look forward to watching this season and report the winning results here!

  1. So the Cross Country sled is pretty much the same awesome sled as last year with different clutching. Was pretty dominant last year and with this on going covid crap, I can see why they pretty much left it alone. Hope they can find the speed that they were missing compared to the 4 strokes that they were allowed to run last year though.

  2. Due to the pandemic, Team Arctic race department had to cancel my XC sled for 2022. But hopefully I can find a leftover 2021 model. Good luck to all Team Arctic racers this coming winter race season.

  3. all those championships on a 10 year old platform. that says something !!!! if it aint broke dont fix it. hopefuly Herf and Brown kepp putting them on the box this season. TEAM ARCTIC !!!

  4. So Kale, I know this sounds like a broken record, but I am going to ask again. Do you know when the 6000 RR’s are supposed to start moving down the line? Luckily I am doing Beets right now or I would be pulling my hair out waiting for my sled to show up at my dealer.

  5. Kale, do you have any knowledge on when 22 sleds will be arriving at dealers? I ordered a tcat. Haven’t gotten any update on estimated arrival date.

  6. I am sure Cat has another chassis stashed for future use after the pandemic ends but it will be hard to outperform the current set up. X cross country racing is a lot like some of the fast riding consumers do. That old obsolete chassis still has more X cross country wins than than doo and poo combined.

  7. The XC looks just like last years, except for a little graphics, but that’s NOT a bad thing. NO CHARCOAL!

FINALLY someone at the specs department figured out that the SX has used throttle body injection since 2017, NOT the CTEC 2 setup.

Mike is right. Snocross doesn’t mean what it used to. No mod sleds, no innovation. Also, with the forced “retirement” of the GREAT ONE, there are fewer viewers. XC is really what matters! Trails are NEVER as rough as a snocross track, so what works in XC, works on trails. And what sled still wins in XC? The “old” “overweight” ProCross! Like I said before, new engines are what we need. A 650 or 700, and 900 or 950 in the ProCross WILL sell. Also, a big ol’ primary clutch for monster top end. But this will not happen. You know why, so I’m not gonna bother typing it.

    Just my $2.
