ARCTIC CAT HOMECOMING – COMPREHENSIVE LIST OF DISPLAY UNITS

I’ve been sharing some photos of the collectors that will be in attendance at the Arctic Cat 60th Homecoming Collectors show July 15-16 in Thief River Falls, but thought you’d enjoy seeing a comprehensive list (to date) by model year of all the Arctic Cat units that will be on display as well as extensive displays of Parts, Garments and Accessories! It truly is impressive reading through this list and it has been growing daily! This is going to be one heck of a show! Enjoy – Kale

  1. I’d love to see those Firecat prototypes. The sheer speed that the Firecats represented, the unconventional ideas, and perhaps my age at the time cemented my eternal awe of the F2 chassis. My F7 will certainly never be sold.

  2. Kale,
Hopefully you will take a copious amount of photos and post them with title / description on the Insider site for those of us unable to make the event.

    • 71 might be a mistake? Think that should be 73, but Im no expert. Maybe someone can weigh in on this topic? I do know the Formula II was a limited build oval sled. The 2008 ZR6000SX listed is an 08 snocross sled.

  3. I am leaning towards a Typo for the 1971 F2, however I have learned to never say never about Arctic Cat. The number of F2’s built for the 1973 Season is debated. CJ Ramstaad said it was only 50. However I found a couple during my research in the 1990’s that indicated it was more like 175. Where the gray area comes into play is the ones that were FINISHED. When the USSA dropped the hammer on minimum weight regulations my research indicated that Cat was in the middle of race sled building. The minimum weight restriction pretty much killed the reason for the F2’s existence, so the old timers told me. So things pointed to a lot of chassis being shelved or sleds being left incomplete. All I know for certain is there were a fair amount of F2’s sprinkled around the East and raced for years on both snow and grass. Several were upgraded with engine swaps and these would later show up at vintage shows that I was at. I have wished for years to talk to the race shop employees of that time, and solve this riddle, but I wouldn’t have a clue who is still alive and who would know the truth. Besides, who’s going to talk to an amature sled history buff? I never was able to get the secret handshake invite. I had to call old dealers and racers and big time collectors and pick their brains to get the information that became the EXT Arcticles for the Boss Cat website. Someday I will update those, as they are approaching 25 years since I started the project.
