Arctic Cat Summertime Warp

Dirtbiking at the gravel pit

What’s going on at Arctic Cat during the summertime warp? Hmm… I wonder if this group is still riding the gravel pit?

Bonus: A free sticker pack to the first person that can accurately ID everyone in the shot.

Tigershark testing in the ditch

A nice liesurely ride in the ditch, or a top-secret test session for a new product category?

Longing for a real Tigershark?

Heavy rains, another prototype Tigershark or completing a lap around the Arctic Cat test track? All the above?

Will the beer-swilling truck drivers continue to torment the local residents who are out for a stroll?

Monster watering truck

When the rains subside and the track needs water, will this crew make it to work on time and under budget?

A little car racing on the weekends

This guy still tearing up the local tracks, sporting his favorite hat when he’s hoisting the cup?

Snow Blast

And are plans underway for another Big Show in West Yellowstone, featuring Big & Rich, Sawyer Brown and Trick Pony?

  1. This is the most random post I have ever seen. Very entertaining! Brad Pake looks like he is 15 years old. He needed a mustache to fit in with that crew. The guy in the last picture is John Sandbergs child hood friend and current life mentor, very influential in the snowmobile industry! Yeeeaaaaaa!

  2. Thanks for clarifying Train. I remember that guy riding a friggin buffalo at Haydays when SnowBlast was introduced. Felt bad for the Buffalo. That dude was big!

  3. Way to swoop in and steal the sticker pack, Joe. Want me to send it to Cat, or hand-deliver it to you next week when I’m there?

  4. Train: remember, random is good. So were mustaches in 1994. And yes, the guy in the last pic was a massive influence on my life, for many reasons including his bonevolence.

  5. Whomever was driving that monster truck was really working the airhorn! Pretty funny stuff. Every now and then it puffs out a fart of a sound that resembled a horn.

  6. John, you will have to send it to me as I will be out of the plant for the next two weeks. It took me a little bit to figure out that it was Scott Damiels.

By the way, take a look at the spelling of my last name. In the Brian **** article you wrote for the display up front you must have used spellcheck, it always screws up the spelling of my last name. Thanks

  7. Not sure what is worse…those mustaches or all that 90s purple clothing? You should send out another sticker pack for the first person to produce a photo of Joey and his Pink Moto boots.

  8. Hmm, we’ve got a doppelganger here, I think! When I first sratted this series, I honestly thought it would work like the previous project for Meghan. I thought I’d be talking about this experience as a simple discussion of forensic archaeology, using Meghan and her crew as a way to do that. Meghan, however, had a different idea. When I was wrapping up the first post, having simply described the basics of forensic archaeology, there was suddenly a line of dialogue from Meghan. And then one from Sandberg. And that was the first I knew that I had a short story on my hands. At that point, I didn’t know if the skeleton would be from AD 2012 or 2012 BC. But each week, Meghan would give me enough details to carry the next post forward. After the first four, I think, she gave me the basic outline for the rest of the story. But each installment is still being written after the previous one is finished. So as I write this reply, I have Tuesday’s post partially written and the rough ideas for what goes into the installment after that. But other than a sketchy outline that took several weeks to assemble while writing the early parts, I have been writing each post by the seat of my pants.
