Pro Open Starts at Duluth Snocross

There is NOTHING like the sight and sound of Pro Open sleds ripping up the starting line at the snocross season opener in Duluth, Minn.

Here are a few short segments of practice, and the real thing, including one of Dan Ebert, a couple of Johan Lidman, a couple heat races and the Pro Open final.

Enjoy.

  1. Nothing… but the 12 sleds on the starting line at Eagle River on a Sunday afternoon in mid-January. That’s pretty cool in itself.

  2. You’re right… different kind of “nothing.” I should have been more specific… the Duluth Open starts/final is unique to me because it’s the first race of the season, so it’s been 8 months since the last time I heard 12 Open sleds rip. It’s also different because of the potential for carnage in the first corner, which is less likely than at most oval events. For me, it always feels like an explosion waiting to happen.

  3. Garth Kauffman cna really put himself and his machine thru some punishment, and really looks tuff! Logan Christian got my heart pounding Friday night in Pro-X…glad to see him having sucess early in his pro debute. Kyle Pallin in semi-pro took himself out while trying to double the downhill section…between Kyle and Cody Thompsen, we got semi-pro covered! Everyone involved with Team Arctic has to be proud…the season is looking good and the best hasn’t started! …John
