Proof that Zach Herfindahl is One of the World’s Fastest XC Racers

There’s been a lot of tough talk HERE on my Facebook page, regarding a short video segment I posted about Zach Herfindahl being one of the fastest ditch racers in the world.

Here’s a little edit that puts an exclamation point on my sentiment.

All shot last weekend in Warroad, Minn., where Zach won both Pro Stock and Pro Open classes en route to championship titles in both classes.

SWEET riding, Zach!

  1. John, I saw a lot of people on Facebook talking smack about how they or some buddy of theirs rides like that all the time. Well I call b.s. ! Put your money where your mouth is. This guy flat out hauls ass ! Oh to be young again ! Great video just fun to watch it and I won’t be sore in the morning !

  2. Pure kick butt! serious fast smooth riding! I’ve also heard from very good source’s that Zack is a fine human being as well!

  3. Ladies and gentlemen, that right there is pure, unedited awesomeness. Sno-x is cool, ovals are awesome, but….. Nothing is more fun to watch than a good x-c race.

Oh by the way, for those in the town just west of warroad, that is how a x-c sled is supposed to work!

    I love it.

  4. Awesome riding, with emphasis on the “Awe”! Thanks for the great edit, of poetry in motion7. I ride like that…. In my dreams!
I quit reading the FB comments after a bit. If I was a wealthy man… I’d love to pay the expenses of the Top Ten Doubters, to race a USXC Ditch Race next season!

  5. Any extreme athlete can tell you that it is all about being able to be scared of something and then be able to overcome it.

As far as the dangers it is not a broken bones type a deal, it’s a going home in a bag deal.

There is a tight knit (small)group of riders in this world that don’t really care if they see tomorrow. They are more then pleased to live on borrowed time.

They get involved in motorsports. The reward is if they succeed.

I don’t think we here need to start a list of warriors that failed at this sport. We already know who they are and god bless them.

I just wish people with big mouths would just shut up about how they can so this or that. If that’s so them good for you . Go do it then. Good Luck because you are going to need it!!

  6. Zach is silly fast! People have no idea how fricking fast they are going, or how stupidly rough these courses are. Video does not give a true picture of the whole deal. Zach is an exceptional young man, even without the magic he does on a sled. His folks are great people and should very proud of him! He is a fantastic representative for Arctic Cat, XC racing , and snowmobiling in general.

  7. Many want- to- be racers don’t realize that x-country racing is like this the entire race, not just a mile and then take a breather.
I’ve called out a couple of these “Cowboys”and their response is “I don’t have the Time to race” or “The kids have hockey”
In reality they couldn’t take the shame of not being anywhere near as fast as they think they are.
    Good on ya Zach!

  8. I have had the pleasure of watching Zach grow up over the past 15 years or so.
I work for his parents who are wonderful people.
Zach is great at his sport, but most importantly, he is humble!
This young man juspeesont does what hloves, and doesn’t have the “look at me” attitude that most people have. Speaking with Zach yesterday confirmed my comment here yet again. I asked Zach if this last race made him feel tired, and he simply said, “not really” and went about his business with no “self righteousness.” Congrats Zach, you are a great person, and a great racer!

  10. What a talent and asset to Cat. Cat needs offer him a well paid position in something like field test before other colors (God help us it is would be yellow) come calling with big bucks to create an instant I 500 threat next year!

  11. So that’s what I’ve been doing wrong all these years, I’ve been sitting! How can someone so young be such a talented rider?
I agree with you Allen, sign this guy up, if they haven’t already done so, before Doo or heaven forbid, poo steal him away!
