TGIF: The Sept. 6, 2013 Edition

Sno-Baron's Hay Days, the early yearsI’m thankful for the gumption of snowmobile club members whose passion for the sport compels them to host summertime events.

I’m thankful for the heat, dust, swap, races, unveilings, porta-pottys and controlled chaos that has occurred this time of the season for nearly 50 years.

I’m thankful for Sno-Baron’s Hay Days.

And I’m thankful it’s Friday, Sept. 6, 2013.

  1. I’m thankful for the memories of my childhood and the sawdust oval races they used to have in the late summer of the mid seventies.
I’m not thankful that I am old enough to remember them and the sleds that were always winning or running in the front of the pack. If anyone else remembers those races please chime in.

  2. Hi MarilynMany thanks for etnreing the Richmond 13.1 Half Marathon. The race is generating a lot of interest and we are sure that it will be a great run on Easter Sunday. We will of course be in contact with you in the run up to the race, but in the meantime I am hoping that I can interest some of your fellow club runners at Edmonton Running Club to take part. Perhaps you could let me know the best person to speak to and an email address so that I can forward information. At the same time I would also like to let your club know about an event I organise on behalf of my club, The Stragglers RC, the River Relay. The River Relay is a 5 stage 26.2miles baton relay which starts in Windsor Great Park at Virginia Water and finishes in Ham about a mile downstream from Kingston Bridge, with the majority of the route on the Thames path. The date for next year is Sunday 8th September 2013. We reintroduced the race this year after a year’s break and 37 teams took part. In 2013 we are seeking to get more clubs involved and I am aiming to achieve an entry of 50 teams, so I would be delighted if you can enter a team in 2013. Further information will follow in the New Year.Once again, many thanks for etnreing the Richmond 13.1 Half Marathon and I do hope this information will be of interest to your club.Peter WedderburnJoint Race DirectorRichmond 13.1 Half Marathon
