The Course is Set! 2014 USXC Seven Clans I-500 Begins Thursday

This Thursday begins the famed USXC Seven Clan’s Casina I-500 cross-country race in Thief River Falls.

This past weekend, members of the Plummer Snowmobile Club marked the first day’s course.

Racers should expect DEEP holes, FAST ditches and SERIOUS bragging rights for entering.

Club Vice President Arnie Schmitz is talking with former cross-country racer Jeremy Grove. Jeremy is a valuable tool when signing the course, because of the thousands of miles he logged as a racer.

Also looking north from a spot located SW of Plummer. One hundred-plus sleds will turn this into a gargantuan snow berm in just a few days.

Good luck to everyone at the I-500!

  1. we are first time attending races in thief river and can’ t find much info as to where to go and what is happening please if u can give us some idea of where to go to watch etc

  2. I’ve never been able to watch a leg of the Seven Clans I-500 before, I think I am going to head north and find a good parking spot for this on Thursday. Maybe by observing I’ll hone my ditch riding skills!

  3. The USXC has maps available on their website. Go to the right hand portion of the page to the schedule portion and click I-500 maps. I would highly recommend attending this event if you never have seen it. It is a race unlike any other! You will have a new appreciation as to how good the riders are!

  4. USXC website like Mike F says. Also to spare you any bad luck, the shoulders of the roads are really deceiving this time of year. If your going to park on the side of the road, don’t pull over too far. Use your hazard lights and enjoy the race!

  5. Freddie – Last year, racing was moved to Thursday, Friday, Saturday. That way if there was any weather delays on one of the days they could still have Sunday available for make-up. Looks like a cold one this year, but thats what bay windows and milk jugs are for!!!

  6. fast freddie,
That has happened once in the “modern” era. Pat Mach absolutely made the right decision, (and I was not happy about at the time!) visibility was terrible. I was there….

  7. I would like to express aoperciatipn to the writer for bailing me out of such a dilemma. Because of exploring through the world-wide-web and finding proposals which are not pleasant, I thought my entire life was over. Existing without the solutions to the issues you have fixed through your main write-up is a critical case, as well as those that would have negatively damaged my entire career if I hadn’t noticed your site. Your knowledge and kindness in playing with the whole thing was helpful. I am not sure what I would’ve done if I had not encountered such a step like this. I can at this time look ahead to my future. Thanks for your time so much for this skilled and sensible guide. I will not think twice to suggest your web blog to any person who wants and needs counselling about this area.

  10. Greetings, I believe your wesibte might be having browser compatibilityissues. When I take a look at your wesibte inSafari, it looks fine however, if opening in I.E.,it has some overlapping issues. I just wanted to provide you witha quick heads up! Aside from that, excellent blog! http://uvhejlwvst.com bxttqwphr [link=http://rodemnvc.com]rodemnvc[/link]

  11. I think I will stick with the house because the sort of ok retalns in my city are $800 to $900 per month and if I wanted a yard for the dogs I could easily pay $1000. My city has a lot of newish fancy single level seniors condos and there are a few of those for rent but they are $1,200 per month and you have to pay your utilities and I am not sure who is responsible for the monthly fee. There are hundreds of these units in town and they will be a great value in a few years. Right now the ones that are 10 years old are selling for $245,000 and the new ones are around $300,000. I plan to keep the house until I am 70 then sell and rent one of those. My city is not friendly for renters or people who can’t drive but any builder who wants to make a single family home subdivision always gets city council approval. The city has not changed to keep up with the times. It is a lot like the 1950s around here. I was not aware Garth Turner had a blog but I will check it out. http://ujrymcwgg.com prkfdmxs [link=http://naemdsskc.com]naemdsskc[/link]
