Turn-Key Racers: Custom Arctic Cat Soo 500 Enduro Sleds are Ready for Prime Time

Custom Arctic Cat Soo 500 turn-key race sleds for 2016.

The custom 2016 Arctic Cat Soo 500/Enduro Sled project is complete, with five remaining machines now available to racers who want what might be the ultimate turn-key ice sled for this and future seasons.

We first launched info about the project HERE on ArcticInsider last summer.

Team Arctic has thoroughly tested and vetted one of the new machines to ensure the remaining five are ready for prime time. That testing included 500 race-pace miles around a mile oval by CBR riders Zach Herfindahl and Ryan Trout, as well as entering (and winning) the 100-mile Enduro 600/No Bull Triple Crown race at the USXC Pine Lake event with drivers Herfindahl and Wes Selby.

And just in case anyone forgets, the basis of these custom Cats is the defending Soo 500 machine that Selby and Brian Dick piloted to the win in 2015.

These five machines are truly turn-key, with the latest EFI mapping added as well as fully-studded tracks (with Woody’s Carbide Ice Picks) and 9-in. Stud Boy Shaper Bars on the skis.

They’re available for pickup at the race shop. Contact Race Manager Mike Kloety at the Team Arctic Race Shop (EMAIL HERE) for pricing and availability.

The Build Sheet:

Each machine started life as new 2015 ZR 6000 R SX race sled. From there, a whole bunch more customization occurred.

  1. Stud boy shaper bars are not legal at the Soo. Unless Cryderman changed the rules for Arctic Cat they are illegal, because of Woodys sponsorship

  2. sweet.
although they seem to still be sitting way to high for a true oval sled.
that thing needs to be down on the ground like the ZR’s back in the 90’s.

  3. Bill: It’s the Arctic Cat C-TEC2 600.

Jeff: The Soo track can get VERY rough. As in sleds-flying-through-the-air rough. Thus the amount of suspension travel.
