Please join the Minnesota DNR and members of MnUSA as the North Shore Trail is dedicated as the C.J. Ramstad/North Shore Trail on Friday, Sept. 30 at 11am.
The ceremony will take place at the Martin Road parking lot in Duluth.
The name change was initiated by past MnUSA President Greg Sorenson, Representative David Dill and Senator Tom Bakk with suppor from the Minn. Dept. of Natural Resources.
It’s one of the few snowmobile trails in the state of Minnesota that bears a person’s name.
While the re-naming of the North Shore Trail took place in 2009, it is now official with signage and maps.
Ramstad was the editor of countless snowmobile magazines, including Snow Week, Snowmobile, Supertrax, SnowSports and Minnesota Snowmobiling. He penned “Legend: Arctic Cat’s First Four Decades” and was a hugely-influential advocate of motorized recreation. He died in 2007.
The North Shore Trail was one of his favorite.
