New for 2017

*KING aluminum gas shocks provide compression adjustability and precise rebound damping with fade-free, race-proven performance.

*Race-inspired ROPS cage features extra bracing for the ultimate in rigidity and strength.

*Cast-aluminum 15-in. KMC wheels are custom built just for the Wildcat X, delivering lightweight, ultimate strength and a signature style.

*Larger tie-rods and extra gusseting on the double A-arm front suspension deliver added durability for race-focused drivers.

*RG PRO rear suspension features a “wishbone” style, trailing arm design for true tracking throughout the 16.5 inches of travel, delivering professional level performance and stability.

*27-inch ITP ULTRACROSS tires provide 6-ply radial construction, a tightly spaced and overlapping tread pattern that lowers rolling resistance and enhances ride comfort, and a durable rubber compound that delivers longer wear and enhanced resistance to cuts. Their super deep Rim Guard feature provides outstanding wheel lip protection.

*Added chassis bracing handles the abuse of professional-level drivers. The exoskeleton chassis features added bracing and gusseting, plus stronger mounting points for the new RG PRO rear suspension. The A-arm mounting brackets are heavier-gauge steel than previous designs.

Here’s what Cat says:

Arctic Cat unleashes the next-generation Wildcat X for 2017 with race-inspired machines that are designed in partnership with Robby Gordon and aimed at the ultimate big-bump, professional-level rider who expects the ultimate off-road vehicle. A new RG PRO rear suspension, KING gas shocks, pro-worthy ROPS cage, custom KMC wheels with ITP Ultracross tires and key chassis improvements highlight the new Wildcat X models as well as longtime partnerships with Robby Gordon.

The new RG PRO rear suspension features separate right and left wishbone trailing arms that track perfectly straight, with no unwanted scrub through the full 16.5 inches of travel. The result is the ultimate big-bump performance, with maximum stability and durability. High performance KING gas shocks handle the suspension duties on both ends, delivering compression adjustability and precise rebound damping in a package that’s legendary among Baja racers.

A new race-inspired ROPS cage brings the ultimate strength and rigidity to the occupant canopy. It’s matched by more robust suspension mounting and tie-rods – plus extra bracing and gusseting on the chassis – to withstand the pro-level performance the new X models are built for.

The 15-inch cast-aluminum KMC wheels are custom units available only on the Wildcat X models.

What hasn’t changed is the renowned Wildcat exoskeleton chassis layout, with its 40-/60-percent front/ rear weight distribution for optimal handling at high speed. The driver and passenger are located near the low center of gravity, leaving them less affected by the movements of the vehicle, enhancing confidence and control.

With industry-leading 17/16.5 inches of front/ rear suspension travel and 12 inches of ground clearance, both Wildcats deliver comfort and control in nearly every condition.

Powering the X models is a liquid-cooled 951cc Arctic Cat H2 V-Twin 4-stroke with Electronic Fuel Injection, a 2-into-1 ceramic-coated exhaust and single 50mm throttle body. Feeding that power and torque to the ground are the TEAM Rapid Response clutches and electronic selectable 2WD/4WD and front differential lock.

Variable Assist Electronic Power Steering (EPS) system keeps the steering both light and precise. The EPS initiates at engine idle for reduced steering effort when in 4WD, especially when the differential lock is engaged. The result is a light steering input effort when negotiating tough obstacles like washouts, rocks and mud, but with enough feedback so the driver senses the tire contact patch in relation to the terrain.

Additional comfort-and-control features include high back bucket seats with upper body supports and 3-point seat belts; plus tube-frame doors with integrated nets to compliment the exterior lines. Class-leading LED headlights and taillights shine extra-bright, while the dual-piston caliper hydraulic brakes deliver enhanced braking performance. The 300-lb. payload rear compartment is large enough to carry a cooler and a Gerry can of gas. Automotive-style paint, underseat storage; glove box, bed-mounted tie-down hooks; and infinitely adjustable tilt steering complete the package.

The Wildcat X EPS comes with color-matched suspension arms; half doors; and the option of either Orange Metallic or Plasma Green coloring. With a U.S. MSRP of $18,499 yet boasting KING shocks, ITP Ultracross tires and KMC wheels, it’s the most capable machine in its class and by far the best value.

The upscale Wildcat X Limited EPS adds full aluminum doors; a sleek molded roof; and aluminum front and rear bumpers. It comes in Dynamic Gray.
