The tight and technical confines of the Deadwood track on the National Snocross Tour proved to be just the kind of challenge where Jacob Yurk and his Arctic Cat could shine. With the national tour’s new “Triple-Crown” format, where the top pros battle in three main events and the cumulative results determines the champion for the round, Yurk claimed a pair of podiums on Saturday night, a third in round two and a top of the box finish in round three. The results were enough to give Yurk an overall second place finish for the night. Congrats to Jacob and the Kyllo Racing Team.
Other top performing Cat riders on the weekend included:
Colin Taggart with the win in Friday’s Junior 14-15 final.
Gavin Brault with a pair of third-place finishes in Transition 9-13
Beau Engel with a second-place finish in Transition 8-10 Friday
Dedric Schwahn with a second-place finish in Transition 8-10 Saturday
Cerissa Blessum with a third-place finish in Pro-Am Womens
Devin Denman with a second-place finish in the Pro-Am Plus 30
Ryan Frank with a third-place finish also in the Pro-Am Plus 30
Atta boy Yurk! Way to put the Cat up there. Im hoping Ishoel is going to be ok…he took quite the tumble. I dont like seeing anyone hurt no matter what brand theyre on.
UPDATE: The Skogquist Race Team gave an update just before 10 a.m. central time Monday on Ishoel’s condition. It includes the following: “Please keep [Ishoel] in your thoughts and prayers as he heals from multiple injuries, including a broken femur, fractured elbow, collapsed lung, liver lacerations, broken ribs and fractured vertebrae.”
Jacob got a great start, and held off Lebel, even pulled on him a bit while eating a lot of roost because the lapper in front of him ignored the move over flag. Great job, I think things are looking up for you and your team.
Way to go yurk! And way to Go Arctic Cat baby!!! Thoughts and prayers to ishoel🙏
