Better than BNG: 2015 Arctic Cat ZR 6000R SX Race Sled

In addition to unveiling the new cross-country race sled at Hay Days, Arctic Cat also took the wraps off of a revised 2015 ZR 6000R SX snocross race sled.

I mention the XC racer because the switch it’s received (from using the pure race chassis/engine to using the standard ProCross chassis and C-TEC2 600 DSI engine) allowed Arctic Cat greater flexibility to change the snocrosser for 2015.

Key improvements to the 2015 ZR 6000R SX racer are aimed at increased performance and others at durability.

2015 Arctic Cat ZR 6000 R SX Improvements

• New Ceramic Coated Pipe for Improved Starting Line Performance

• New Track Lug Design for Improved Performance

• New FOX FLOAT EVOL RC Ski shocks with wide range hand adjustable Compression and Rebound Damping

• New Cyclone Master Cylinder (that’s aluminum instead of plastic) offers improved durability and lever feel, and is easier to bleed

• New Brake Pads with increased friction for improved stopping power

• TEAM Driven clutch assembly with a wider range of belt deflection adjustment

• New Torque Control Link (TCL) to allow for wider range of belt deflection adjustment

• Improved Snow flap mounting restraints

• New chaincase seal and cover for improved sealing and increased strength

• New ski axle for improved durability

• Revised Rear suspension Calibration for Improved Handling

• FOX 1.5 Zero C Front Track shock with wide range compression adjust

• FOX 2.0 Zero RC Rear Track shock with wide range compression and rebound adjust

• Revised 7-position coupling for improved durability

• Revised rear axle adjust blocks for improved durability

  1. IBG, I think you’re correct. These are pix that were distributed as being the SX version.

It has the correct SX windshield, but not some other components. I’ll see what I can find out.

For now, let’s call these “illustrative of the ZR 6000R SX” pix.

  2. So the SX is still running the Suzuki 6? Any idea if/ when they will run a tweaked Cat C-Tec2 600? Would it be hard to get the DSI to run on premix? I’m assuming it would be a pain for any racer that wants to run aftermarket oil, since there is clearly a difference between the new cat oil for the DSI and what is available on the market.

  3. • Revised 7-position coupling for improved durability

Is this a wider range or more settings within the typical range and is it something that can be added to other skids?

    • Revised rear axle adjust blocks for improved durability

Same here can it be added?

  4. Rocked this after todays main page WOD.Scaled to 156# squat clean with rgluear bar (B/W 198# no axle available)No sled so used an aerobic step turned upside down with a 45# plate on it, surprisingly hard due to the grip on the step.Finished up with some treadmill sprints and I am officially dead. Ice packs go on.

  5. As a former rock clebmir, I always find rope systems interesting. Quick question though – how do the carabiners hold up in those types of temperatures? I would think there might be issues with the screw gates freezing shut on the locking ones. Especially if you have any thaw/refreeze cycles going on, which does seem to happen occasionally on the Iditarod. Also, I see mushers fiddling with things in bare hands all the time – wouldn’t touching metal be an issue? http://ylbemgv.com ihwtsnw [link=http://ocyihoiat.com]ocyihoiat[/link]
